Governor Gavin Newsom announced the prospects of having to enact another stay-at-home order on Thursday, December 3, 2020. The next day, on Friday, December 4, 2020, a three-week stay-at-home order was announced in Orange County and the surrounding Southern California region. It was all due to how the intensive care unit's capacity sadly dropped below 15% of the state's threshold. This order is said to last through at least December 27, 2020. In hearing this, restaurants located in San Clemente, are supposed to adhere to this notion and order, but understandably, most are not happy with this new regulation. Similarly to everyone else, they have had to adapt and change with the times for their business's sake. The order still encourages social distancing and mask-wearing. Therefore, some restaurants are only doing take out, but customers can happily eat outside in a physically distanced sort of way. It is eerie when walking the streets to see how calm the little "Spanish Village by the Sea" has become due to Covid-19's presence.
